"From Crisis to Consolation"

Jun 22, 2025    Pastor J. Leon Gant Jr.

In the crucible of human suffering, we confront an existential void that neither self-help nor secular solace can fill. This sermon invites us to acknowledge the universality of crisis as the ground upon which our deepest dependencies are revealed. It then traces the ontological shift from despair into the ever-flowing reservoir of divine consolation—an infinite wellspring that transcends circumstance. Finally, it issues an ethical summons: to transform our own healing into an outward mission of empathy, echoing the cross-shaped logic by which Christ converted His darkest hour into the ultimate act of redemption. In this dialectic of brokenness and restoration, we find our truest calling: to become conduits of God’s comfort in a world starved for hope.
